I thought maybe the title of this blog would get your attention. :-) This morning was one of "those days". If you're looking for a deep spiritual thought you're probably not going to get it in this post - but maybe it will give you a reason to smile on a Thursday morning.
I've been having problems with dry skin around my ankles (sweat runs into my socks when I run in cold weather and then freezes against my skin). My wife gave me a bottle of some lotion she found in the cabinet last night that she thought might help. However it seems it had been some time since the bottle had been used and I discovered some interesting facts when I attempted to use it this morning. Fact 1: lotion hardens into an efficient cork over time and Fact 2: plastic bottles become brittle over time. When I squeezed nothing came out. Being a typical man I squeezed harder. Still nothing. Not one to step down from a challenge, I gave one final hard squeeze. I now have a better idea of what happens when something explodes. The walls of the bottle succumb to my superior strength and propelled inward. The resulting compression effectively ejected coconut scented lotion in a circular pattern around the bathroom. And when I say around the bathroom, I mean all around. After wiping down the walls, picking out new clothes, and a second shower I was ready to go for the day.
If you happen to be around me today and smell the scent of coconut don't say a thing!
