Election Day-James

It's election day. And if you listen to any news at all that probably means a time of tension for you. Will the person I support get elected? Will the person elected lead us in the direction I think we should go in or in another direction? Will the candidates do what they've promised? There are enough questions to leave us curled up in a corner in a fetal position. That's why I'm taking a new tack this year. I'm voting - that's my part. But this year I'm taking God at His word. His Word says He's in control, He's soverign and He is working out His perfect plan. He already knows the results of the election. He's not going to be surprised. So instead of worrying, this year I'm going to take Him at His Word. It may not be the outcome I'd like to see. It may not be the outcome I think would be best for our country, our state, or even for our community. But I can't see the future so what I think would be best probably isn't even close to God's best. As Woodrow Kroll says, there is a God and I'm not him. So this year I'm going to praise God that we have the right to vote, I'm going to cast my vote, and then I'm going to get back to doing what God has called me to do in my little corner of the world and trust Him to take care of all the issues I really have no control over anyway. Happy Election Day!
